Description

We are seeking an Associate Credit Research Analyst to join our fixed income team. The analyst will be supervised and mentored by the Director of Municipal Credit Research while conducting municipal credit research and analysis in support of institutional client portfolios. This is a hybrid position.
Primary Duties
  • Develop municipal sector credit expertise
  • Monitor assigned issuers and sectors, as well as the broader municipal market, for changes in risk factors
  • Municipal budget and tax analysis, financial statement modeling and synthesis of municipal sector developments and market news flow
  • Actively engage with municipal credit team and portfolio managers, and participate in portfolio- and credit meetings
  • Provide, maintain, document and communicate proprietary credit assessments to inform portfolio management decisions and to comply with regulatory requirements
  • Perform related ad hoc projects and requests
  • Conduct in-depth qualitative and quantitative fundamental analysis in order to assess credit and market risks for assigned investment grade issuers and sectors
Basic Qualifications
  • One to two years of experience in investment and securities industry
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, econ, public policy or related, or equivalent experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Well-developed analytical skills, rigorous attention to detail and demonstrated ability to synthesize a variety of factors
  • Experience with the Bloomberg Terminal
  • Basic knowledge of fixed-income markets and securities, financial analysis techniques and credit rating factors
  • Good understanding of the economy and market conditions
  • Advanced Excel capabilities
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and desire to learn
  • Solid understanding of accounting, finance and investment principles
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic understanding of institutional investment management
