We are currently looking for a talented Copywriter (preferably with previous ad agency experience) to join our “in-house” marketing team. The ideal candidate is someone who can wield language like a scalpel or a bullwhip (depending on the assignment) and work in an energetic and collaborative environment to create social / digital content and multi-channel ideas that that resonate in the culture, create brand awareness, and reinforce customer loyalty.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ably wield the Duke Cannon brand voice
• Work with the team to generate ideas & concepts for social and digital campaigns.
• Assist with ideation on larger campaigns and initiatives.

There are no “bad briefs” at Duke Cannon—we know our brand is a big differentiator for us, and we want everything we do to get noticed and elevate it in the public eye. Accordingly, the person in this role will produce an enviable range of humorous, creatively-driven work (social content, TV spots, digital campaigns—we even made an 8-bit videogame and Christmas tree ornaments that look like huge bricks of soap) that will not make people’s eyes glaze over.

Experience and Requirements:

The copywriter for our creative team will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the organization by contributing to the growth and development of a growing challenger brand. Accordingly, ideal candidates should possess the following qualities:

• Be able to generate ideas for various media formats.
• Note: This is an on-site position based in Minneapolis that does involve hours in office; team members work a hybrid schedule in the office 3 days a week, with 2 days spent working from home if desired / needed.
• Portfolio site showing a body of past advertising / content work.
• Be well versed in current social media trends, familiar with leading platforms, and how consumers interact with them.
• 3+ years of experience working in a similar role at an advertising agency; familiar with industry processes, timelines, and outputs, and comfortable with team collaboration.
