The Headlines:
The Craft Sales Representative serves as a key ambassador representing the Leinenkugel’s brand and regional Tenth and Blake beers in the marketplace, growing our presence, gaining new accounts, championing quality assurance in the marketplace and growing professional sales relationships with retailers and consumers.
The Sales Reps would focus on driving secondary activity (beyond Summer Shandy) would act like a true craft sales force curating and growing our more crafty, regional innovation.
If and when other 10B regional craft brands are in market, additional responsibilities to sell that brand will also be part of the role.

The Responsibilities:

Market Development
  • Communicate with retail accounts regarding brand awareness, pricing, inventory, events, etc,
  • Identify and develop new accounts and maintain outstanding rapport in current accounts
  • Become acquainted with every key decision maker or decision influencer in the regional market
    • Achieve specified account goals for both the on and off premise
    • Identify and develop new accounts and maintain outstanding rapport in current accounts
    • Communicate with retail accounts regarding brand awareness, pricing, inventory, events, etc,
    • Become acquainted with every key decision maker or decision influencer in the regional market
    • In collaboration with the MCBC sales team, work with distributors on a weekly basis, plan/attend promos/staff trainings, land new bottle and draft placements at regional accounts
    • Ensure proper execution of off premise shelf sets in target accounts as new items are launched and existing items are discontinued.
    • Visit a minimum of 10+ accounts a day and be in the marketplace during “nontraditional” hours
    • Conduct wait staff and bartender education, beer tastings and promotional events
    • Utilize Leinenkugel family members and Leinie Lodge as needed and as available to build brand advocacy with distributors, retailers and consumers

  • Utilize available technology and tools to log in market activity and results and recap weekly 10B Sr Regional Manager
  • Develop market profile target lists
    • Develop disproportionate share of mind by achieving “preferred supplier status” at distributor by being recognized as one of the distributor’s best supplier reps
    • Build rapport with key people at distributors, such as the owner, President/GM, sales manager, supervisors, sales reps, merchandising manager, events coordinator, operations manager, draft manager and receptionist
    • Utilize available technology and tools to log in market activity and results and recap weekly 10B Sr Regional Manager
    • Learn and execute distributor point of sale orders, pulling and invoicing samples, scheduling ride alongs, scheduling merchandiser account visits for specialty point of sale and large displays, basic policies for handling distributor bill backs, receiving monthly sales reports, draft tech calls

The Other Qualifications:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of progressive experience in sales, marketing, or account management, preferably in a brewery or beverage industry
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Requires travel up to 50% in the local market
    • Passion for craft beer!
    • Highly motivated with an assertive, confident personality
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work alone
    • Strong knowledge of the company, its history, and its product offerings
    • General knowledge of brewing process
    • General knowledge of market share and product offerings of the primary competitors
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to master the selling skills process
    • Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet changing demands
    • Excellent time management skills
    • Must be able to work flexible hours/days, including weekend events
    • Computer competence in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
    • Administrative ability to complete company’s minimal administration requirements on time regularly such as expense reports, monthly recaps, monthly calendar, weekly call recapping
