Job Description

The Court Specialist/Runner will contact courts and other data sources in order to conduct (in person, by phone, or online) criminal/civil and other forms of record checks as part of an employment background screening report (consumer report), ensuring complete, accurate and up-to-date information is obtained and reported within prescribed guidelines and deadlines.


You will work independently to complete assigned duties and must live within a 20-mile radius of any of the following courts:


Kent County Courthouse - 414 Federal Street, Dover, DE 19901


Leonard L. Williams Justice Center - 500 North King Street, Wilmington, DE 19801


Sussex County Courthouse - 1 The Circle, Suites 1 & 2, Georgetown, DE 19947


Hours: 8:30 am-5:00 pm


Responsibilities


  • Liaison with Records and other departments, as needed, to complete assignment or obtain clarification
  • Update AccurateACE and/or ATM with the information gathered from the courts and other data sources
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Conduct data processing, skip tracing, file retrieval, result analysis, and other investigative tasks
  • Contact courts to request information beyond what is available on public index
  • Coordinate the pulling and review of physical court files


Qualifications


  • Meet established deadlines, while maintaining a high level of quality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (especially Outlook, Word, and Excel) and Internet research
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate personal initiative, exercise sound judgment
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Have reliable transportation/access to designated court locations
  • 1-2 years’ work experience (in an office environment), preferred
  • Previous experience as a paralegal, law firm assistant, or court records researcher, preferred
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills
  • Have strong analytical abilities, be detail-oriented, and highly organized
  • Type 45 WPM or greater
  • Live within a 20 mile radius of designated courts
  • Familiarity with FCRA a plus


$16 - $19 an hour


The base pay for this position ranges from $16 - $19 per hour. Pay will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and relevant education and training.
