Courier
Systems & Methods, Inc. (SMI)


Summary

Responsible for couriering mail picked up at designated postal facilities, signing for mail as appropriate at the postal facility, and sorting mail appropriately once delivered to the SDU facility.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Pick up mail at designated postal facilities at appropriate times and deliver to the SDU facility.

Sort mail as appropriate once delivered to the SDU facility.

Log and return any misdirected mail to the appropriate postal facility.

Courier mail and any other documents as designated by management.

Assists Scanning Department as necessary with scanning, document storage, and cleanup.

Follow Standard Operating Procedures.

Perform any other related duties as assigned.


Other Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of:

Designated United States Postal facility policies and procedures related to mail pickup schedules and delivery.

General office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, printers, scanners, etc.

Interpersonal skills including tact, courtesy, and patience.

Ability To:

Meet corporate vehicle insurance and usage policy requirements.

Drive designated vehicle(s) throughout business day as scheduled and as needed.

Work as a team member to accomplish established goals.

Must display professionalism in both communication and conduct.

Work varied schedules and overtime hours as necessary.

Work under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.

Work well with others.

Gives attention to detail to accomplish tasks thoroughly with concern for all aspects.


Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or equivalent.

One-year work experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the work.

Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.


Computer Skills

Must be proficient in data entry skills including keyboard, mouse, and 10 key pad.

Experience and knowledge of software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Windows products.

  • Regular lifting of thirty-fifty pounds and occasional lifting of heavy, bulky items.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Driving for both short and extended periods of time
