This position is PRN/SSP (as needed) and will not provide full-time hours. This position does provide flexible hours and a MINIMUM requirement to work 5 days a month, with one weekend a quarter if needed.
Most shifts are Mon-Fri, early morning to mid-day, and some days we leave the office as early as 5AM. Most shifts are 3-4 hours, but can be up to 12 hours long.
This job assumes responsibility for and provides for the delivery of health promotion activities including screenings at all Corporate Wellness events for the promotion of the organization, its facilities and partner facilities and physician staff to both corporate clients and the community. Assists licensed and ancillary team members with assigned responsibilities and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams for the delivery of health fairs, screenings and health education events. Assumes responsibility for and provides care, clinical expertise and education for screening participants. Exhibits sensitivity to cultural, ethnic and religious diversity in all interactions; maintains involvement in activities aimed toward the achievement of the department’s strategic goals and objectives and demonstrates professional responsibility and accountability for his/her own practice and supports the company's philosophy of nursing.

Education

Required - Registered Nurse Diploma
Preferred - Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing


Work Experience

Required - 3 years, Nursing experience.

Certifications

Required - Current RN License in the state of practice

Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.


Job Duties

  • Conducts and ensures professional development and maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training and credentials.
  • Utilizes clinical skills and knowledge in the assessment of clients’ health status (physiological, psychosocial, emotional, cultural and spiritual). Provides care based on these criteria, safety and related criteria appropriate to the clients served.
  • Conducts health promotion activities including screenings at all Corporate Wellness events for the promotion of the organization, its facilities and partner facilities, and physician staff to both corporate clients and the community.
  • Assesses learning needs and implement teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of the patient, family and other groups or disciplines.
  • Participates in projects that improve the quality of service in health care events and promotions, as well as provides feedback to enhance the Corporate Wellness Department.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. NOTE: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.

Mechanical lifting devices (carts, dollies, etc.) or team lifts should be utilized.
Must be able to stoop, bend, reach and grab with arms and hands, manual dexterity.

Frequent travel throughout and between facilities as well as to and from health fairs and screening events required. Use of personal vehicle required.
Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue.
The incumbent works in a patient care area; works in an area where patients enter; works directly with patients; and/or works with specimens that could contain diseases. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases.

Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
