Athena is looking for a Social Copywriter to join our Creative Agency.

The Campaign Team within our Creative Group produces thoughtful and elevated creative to represent a Fortune 30 brand across different mediums.

We’re looking for a motivated social media copywriter who engages with targeted audiences and has a comprehensive understanding of various social media platforms (paid and organic media). The candidate will come with creative concepts, write, edit, and optimize social media posts (language, tone, message) based on our target audiences’ behaviors.

This job requires a level of quickness, so the ideal candidate should be able to quickly ideate and execute in a fast-paced environment. This person should possess the ability to translate interesting and often complex ideas to life.

While their focus will be on social media and will work in tandem with an art director, we see the role as broader - collaborating with other teams within the Creative Group.

Our ideal candidate has the following:

• Conduct research and author reports based on client need
• Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects at once
• Strong portfolio that shows range, with examples of multi-platform, social media work
• Writes compelling, relevant campaign messages considering different platforms and media
• Ideates and executes branded campaigns across different touchpoints (film & video, social media, digital)
• Translate complex and ambiguous concepts into simple and effective messages
• Interact with project teams to understand business objectives and audience demographics
• Possesses ability to distill complex concepts into digestible narratives
• Collaborates with Art Directors and Designers to construct ideas to ensure that both the copy and the visuals are in perfect synch, to make the concept as powerful, vivid, and compelling as possible
• Ensure copy tone and style are consistent with brand and style guidelines
• Collaborate with creative team members to determine concept, brand, and copy directions
• Composes engaging narratives and scripts that tell stories through both voice-over and supers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language
• Contribute to business development efforts, supporting proposal and content creation
• Has an energetic and optimistic attitude and cares about creating powerful work
• Has a self-motivated, proactive, strategic mentality

Requirements

And should have the following experience and skills:

• Highly motivated, self-starter, with a conceptual mind
• Demonstrates attention to detail, personal organization, and interpersonal skills
• Solid organization and time management skills
• Desire to work in a fast paced, innovative, and collaborative environment
• Experience working as part of an Art Director / Copywriter team
• 5+ years of experience
• Previous agency experience is necessary, ideally supporting a corporate brand
