The department of Financial Aid is seeking (1) Financial Aid Coordinator, Federal Work-Study Program to join the already awesome team taking the Financial Aid Department to the next level of excellence!

Here Is What You Will Do


The Financial Aid Coordinator is a customer service driven professional. The Coordinator advises parents, students and colleagues on financial aid in accordance to Title IV, State and Institutional regulations. The Coordinator is responsible for assessing financial need so that students have the financial assistance needed to meet educational goals. The Coordinator awards financial aid funds according to Title IV, State and Institutional regulations. Second tier resource for the Enrollment Services Center to analyze and assess complex financial aid issues to independently counsel students and parents to determine and initiate a course of action to appropriately resolve them while ensuring all service level agreements are adhered to.



The ideal candidate will provide complex attention to detail, accounting skills & finance support. In addition to supporting the department, the Student Financial Aid Coordinator will also support:


Under general supervision, coordinate student employment activities; serve as a liaison to local business community and District employers; assist departments and students with the hiring processes; interact with Payroll offices to monitor Work Study employment; supervise student and short term, non-continuing employees; and perform related work as required. The Federal Work-Study Coordinator will manage the Federal Work-Study Program for each academic year.


Additional Duties Include


  • Responsible for reviewing KPI generated reports of students required and adjustment of financial aid awards.
  • Reconcile FWS Program funds collaborating with Accounting Services monthly.
  • Facilitate inter-departmental communication concerning dates, timelines, and funding.
  • Oversee the administrative functions of the FWS Program using Banner system.
  • Run, analyze and interpret reports via Oneusg
  • Provide financial aid counseling and assistance to students who are applying for financial aid.
  • Responsible for the adjustment of financial aid based on enrollment in required courses.
  • Responsible Salesforce to assess student needs based on cases assigned.
  • Verify student eligibility and certify all work-study awards. Coordinate with Career Services to manage work-study employment opportunities using a Job Location and Development (JLD) Coordinator.
  • Counsel students and parents in all facets of work-study and financial aid. Oversight and management of the off-campus work study student payroll
  • Develop and implement work-study policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with Civic Engagement to review Work-Study Agreements and approve employers for work-study partnerships. Support Career Services with Job Fairs.
  • Develop and present appropriate workshops and training on Federal Work-Study Program to students, campus departments, and off-campus organizations.
  • Assist with managing and reconciling the college-wide work-study program budgets.
  • Provide work-study information to students, and employers (on-campus and off-campus).
  • Assist with administering, monitoring, and reconciling Federal Work-Study (FWS) program funds with Accounting Services help provide students with educational work experiences to enhance present skills and work ethic while developing new skills (academically and professionally).
  • Ensure that the program follows federal, state, and institutional regulations.


Minimum Hiring Qualifications


Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.


Preferred Hiring Qualifications


Minimum of three to five years of professional experience in financial aid in a higher education environment. Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations. Experience in data analysis and batch data processing preferred. We are looking for someone with superior organizational and customer service skills.

Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred from an accredited college or university.
