Job Description
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Facilities and Construction Manager to oversee a wide range of responsibilities, including contractor bidding, procurement, and selection, coordination of construction projects, home repair grant coordination, property management, maintenance of our real estate portfolio and administrative duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction, skilled trade, property management or real estate, along with excellent attention to detail, organizational abilities, and strong computer skills. The Facilities and Construction Manager will be responsible for ensuring effective coordination of multi-family developments, new construction projects, acquisition and renovation of single-family homes, home repair initiatives, and property management of various real estate assets.
Responsibilities:
Contractor bidding, procurement, and selection and coordination
Oversight of acquisition, renovation, and resale (ADR) program
Liaising with General Contractor of multi-family developments
Coordination of neighborhood home repair projects ensuring grant compliance, cost projecting and resident client selection
Manage and coordinate the maintenance of GRDC's real estate portfolio, including leased commercial properties, residential rentals, land contracts, vacant land, and GRDC office ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of properties, overseeing repairs, inspections, and tenant communications
Carry out administrative tasks as assigned including record-keeping, photo documentation, data management, and reporting
Prepare accurate and timely reports on cost projections, project updates, and property management activities
Supervise staff and interns
Requirements:
3-5 years of experience in construction, skilled trade, property management, real estate or equivalent industry.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of quality.
Excellent organizational skills to effectively manage multiple projects and properties simultaneously.
Proficiency in computer applications, including project management software, spreadsheet programs, and document management systems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with contractors, residents, and a diverse range of populations.
Successful applicants must possess a valid Michigan drivers’ license and personal vehicle.
Bachelor Degree preferred, but not required.
Knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and best practices in construction, facilities management, and property management a plus, but not required.
Salary, Benefits and Schedule
This position is full-time, exempt, 40 hours per week with a hybrid schedule (remote and in-person). The expected salary for this position ranges from $50,000 to $60,000 annually. Full-time employees at GRDC have access to an employer sponsored healthcare plan, paid holidays, paid time off, paid sick time and a flexible work environment.
