The gig: Copy/Content Writer


The scoop: At Outsource Marketing, we like to have fun...seriously. The perfect fit for our team is a content badass who is creative, has a wicked sense of humor, can take a joke (oh, there will be jokes), thinks “Chicken Attack” is brilliant, and is incredibly passionate about copywriting, content strategy, and clear communication.


This opportunity is for someone with an agency background working with clients across a variety of industries. Fancy jazz hands for someone who has experience writing copy for tech, manufacturing, financial services, marketing, or legal sectors.


You’ll join us out in Issaquah in a boutique office where the snack cupboard is always full and the cowbell rings when something awesome goes down. We work a hybrid schedule - two days in the office, three days virtually.


Here’s where you come in: You’ll work closely with our Marketing Integrators and Coordinators, creative team, and clients on a variety of projects that include:


  • Write SEO-optimized content for websites, blogs, etc.
  • Produce error-free content that adheres to our company’s and client’s style guidelines
  • Propose copy concepts and present underlying strategic thinking to clients
  • Maintain knowledge of industry and marketing communications trends, and incorporate new ideas into the company's process and procedures.
  • Interpret creative direction and adapt points from creative briefs into persuasive copy concepts
  • Collaborate closely with the creative team and Marketing Integrators to establish the client’s brand voice and then ensure it’s active across all consumer platforms in support of the overall marketing vision and objectives
  • Collaborate with the content team on content strategy and continuous improvements
  • Conduct research and interviews as needed for content creation
  • Develop broad marketing messages that can be communicated across both print and digital channels
  • Write copy for a variety of channels including social media, website, blogs, print, press, and sales enablement


The skills to pay the bills: You’d have us at “what up?” if you’ve kicked ass in an agency or marketing firm. We’d also love it if you had:

  • A desire to be part of a culture of constant improvement that’s always looking for opportunities to improve processes and practices
  • Five or more years of agency experience writing and producing a wide range of content for multiple industries
  • Experience managing and mentoring other writers is a plus
  • Flawless spelling and grammar, with a flair for brevity (and a well-placed pun or two!)
  • A positive, gritty, get-it-done attitude
  • Embraces extreme ownership
  • An understanding of how to write for social media at a professional level
  • Strong editorial skills - part of this job will be to help other members of our team create inspiring and effective content in a variety of formats
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in writing, journalism, marketing, communications, or similar field
  • A strong portfolio of work demonstrating writing skills (short form, punchy, sales driven, website copy, etc.) and editing skills
  • Solid understanding of SEO concepts and writing for SEO preferred


Compensation:

Fit is everything to us but we know candidate experience will vary, the salary for this role starts at $70,000. We provide quality benefits including:
