Job Description

The Center for Executive Succession (CES) within the Management Department at the Darla Moore School of Business seeks to hire a Content and Social Media Manager to help increase the production and cadence Center content to serve its growing list of corporate members. The role of the Content and Social Media Manager will take responsibility for disseminating content and helping oversee our media efforts with the intention of further expanding the membership. In this position the employee is responsible for (a) working with Center faculty to conduct relevant research, (b) developing and disseminating content based on CES (and other academic) research, © managing and driving a social media presence, (d) developing and implementing long-range plans and objectives for the Center, (e) participating in the planning and managing of Center events.

Minimum Qualifications

Masters degree and 2 years related experience, or bachelor’s degree and 7 years related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters in a related field such as business, journalism, social media, and mass communication and related experience in translating research into distributed material, project management roles, marketing roles. Knowledge of statistical software like “R” or STATA is a plus. Candidates with experience using some of the following software will be given preference: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Skills in the following areas are required: verbal and written communication, analytical, interpersonal, leadership, managerial, and project management. Must be able to convert research into well-written communications, build content to distribute through multiple channels (e.g., white papers; LinkedIn), preparing and distributing press releases, conducting interviews, proofreading and editing content developed by other team members, tracking media coverage and following industry trends; engaging with senior corporate executives and their staff, drafting social media plans, strategies, and messaging for various marketing projects and campaigns. Must be able to work independently and flexibly in a competitive market while exercising good judgment and reasoning in the performance of complex and dynamic job duties. Must be an effective team member, planner, and presenter.
