Job Description

Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.

  • This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-3 times per week.

Manage container design, purchasing, budget management and repair process for CCA NA for returnable containers. Responsible for divisional assets lead for processing disposal, transfers and sale of all CCA capitalized assets. Responsibilities include cross functional containerization support of CCA plants, suppliers and business ventures.

  • Process workflow approval of CCA asset disposal, reuse, transfer and sales. Process drafting of approval forms and submit forms for approval sign-offs. Ownership of CCA facility contact list. Representation of CCA division at weekly ARGB meetings.
  • Manage CCA container repair provider including defining scope of work, budget, invoicing and project management.
  • Coordinate the rebuy and delivery of service sheet metal racks, CCA corporate bulk containers, and transmission, engine, and battery cocoons.
  • Support Purchasing Department in the development of blanket contracts to facilitate lean processes for Containerization purchases
  • Attend various business line and product development meetings for returnable container commodities.
  • Collaborative design and procurement of returnable containers for propulsion commodities: engine and transmission assemblies, and new technologies.
  • Manage CCA Containerization budget, including SAP shopping cart creation, invoice approvals and ownership of budget updates for Containerization team.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of container engineering experience desired
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient with SAP as a writer/creator.
  • Infrequent travel (<10%)
  • Ability to recognize issues or potential barriers and take appropriate escalation
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, effective project planning in terms of resources, strategies, cost, and time with ability to meet project deliverables
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Strong organization and problem solving skills
