Why are we hiring?

Spectrum Builders Inc., is looking for candidates in Columbus, Ohio to be a part of a new team of construction experts to help facilitate various upcoming commercial construction projects in and around Columbus. This position is a full-time, hourly position that offers medical/dental/vision insurance, 401k with a match, and paid time off.

This position is perfect for anyone who wants to explore a career in construction and the professional trades since you will gain exposure to all areas of the commercial construction world - as an employee of the general contractor you will work alongside all of the trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.) and gain experience managing complex construction projects.

What you will be doing:

Assisting Project Managers with daily supervision of projects:

• Observe and report daily activities at various project sites
• Work with company leadership to maintain a high level of quality
• Manage equipment, deliveries, waste hauling, etc.
• Communicate clearly, regularly and professionally with all project team members including Spectrum team mates, subcontractors, and clients
• Collaborate with supervisors, project managers, subcontractors and others to solve problems as they arise
• Pick up and deliver materials to job sites
• Help us maintain a safe and clean job site at all times

Self-Perform various construction tasks as needed:

• Framing, demolition, bracing, or other rough carpentry work
• Assist specialty trades as needed
• Project punchout
• Painting, caulking, minor drywall repairs, and other finish work
• Various other interior and exterior construction tasks as needed
• Installing trim, doors, cabinetry, or other finish carpentry specific tasks
