Job Purpose
The Construction Project Supervisor plans, coordinates, and oversees a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities for New Restaurant Openings (NROs). They track project progression and report details to the appropriate party, and guarantee the overall success of new restaurant builds.
Duties & Responsibilities
New Restaurant Openings (Travel Required) - 60%
- Identify construction issues and facilitate their resolution through appropriate leadership structure.
- Encourage communication of information between departments.
- Continuously Coordinate with construction crew and operations personnel.
- Conduct quality checks for work performed by independent contractors.
- Develop, maintain and improve any business relationships vital to Epic Brand's success.
- Supervise contractors and subcontractors.
- Establish and manage relations with independent contractors, vendors and negotiate best possible rates.
- Complete minor projects necessary for a successful NRO as needed.
- Implement and review project work plans to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Maintain and stay within the project budget.
- Evaluate project progress, identify issues and opportunities to improve performance going forward.
- Interact clearly, constructively and positively with all departments to ensure projects are completed with minimal disruption to planned events.
Restaurant Maintenance – 40%
During “off seasons” between New Restaurant Openings
- Repair doors and locks, rekeying when necessary.
- Minor Flooring installation and repair.
- Drywall Repair.
- Repair restaurant furniture, decor, and hardware.
- Create a contact list for stores to call in case of an emergency.
- Repair plumbing appliances.
- Repair electrical devices.
- Complete quarterly maintenance checks and logs e Streamline R&M (repairs and maintenance) logs and binders at each location.
- Assist with sourcing equipment, smallwares and needed tools at the best price across the brand.
- Remove stains and paint when necessary.
- Painting.
- Tile and Grout work.
- Equipment Installation.
- Inventory all existing equipment with serial numbers and SKUs.
- Woodwork Repairs.
- Implement a warranty list for store equipment.
Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift 55+ lbs on a regular basis.
- 55+ hours per week; both in-store and remote.
- Travel to various NRO locations - must have a reliable vehicle.
- Travel to standing store locations within the region for regular maintenance.
- Irregular work week/hours based on project needs.
- On call for maintenance emergencies.
- This position requires you to be physically fit and mentally alert. There may be a need for standing, walking, sitting, lifting, kneeling, reaching, handling, thinking, reasoning, and calculating.
Qualifications
Must Have:
- Experience in a role that required independent decision making/judgment.
- General construction and maintenance knowledge.
- 2+ years of construction/maintenance experience, in any field.
- HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and/or flooring.
- Ability to utilize basic computer programs (Google Docs, Sheets, etc.).
- Ability to read and understand plans.
- Reliable vehicle.
Preferred:
- HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and/or flooring experience.
- Previous experience overseeing the construction of new restaurant openings (NROs).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or a related field.
- Skilled Trade training/vocational school.
