As a Residential Structural Engineer at Cherry PI Engineering, you will play a critical role in designing, analyzing, and ensuring the structural integrity of residential buildings. Your expertise will be essential in creating safe and efficient housing solutions for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Structural Analysis: Perform comprehensive structural analyses to assess the stability and safety of residential buildings, including load calculations, stress analysis, and seismic evaluations.
2.Design and Planning: Develop structural designs and plans for residential construction projects, considering building codes, industry standards, and client requirements.

3.Inspections and Assessments: Conduct on-site inspections of existing structures, identify potential issues, and provide recommendations for repairs or improvements.
4.Collaboration: Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other team members to integrate structural requirements into architectural designs and construction plans.

5.Compliance: Ensure that all residential structural designs and plans comply with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
6.Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering reports, drawings, and specifications for residential projects, maintaining accurate records of all work.

7.Problem Solving: Address and resolve structural challenges and issues that may arise during construction, renovation, or inspection phases.
8.Cost Management: Assist in cost estimation and budgeting for structural components of residential projects.

9.Client Communication: Communicate effectively with clients to explain engineering concepts, project progress, and recommendations in a clear and understandable manner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in Oklahoma, or the ability to obtain within 3 months.
- 0 years of experience in residential structural engineering (experience may vary based on seniority). We will teach you everything you need to know.
- Proficiency or understanding in structural analysis software and AutoCAD.
- Strong knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Ability and desire to communicate with the general public, and explain complex engineering system and terminology in a way that can be understood by the public.
