CONSERVATION COORDINATOR

Zoological Society of New Jersey

The Zoological Society of New Jersey is seeking a Conservation Coordinator to assist with various

activities related to the protection of habitats within the greater-Essex County area. Reporting to the

organization’s Director of Marketing & Events, the Coordinator will primarily assist with leading group

volunteer outings intended to remove harmful debris and invasive species, as well as conduct basic

citizen science activities. Other activities include the logging, reviewing, and reporting of the Turtle Back

Biodiversity in-situ grant fund in coordination with the organization’s conservation committee.

Additional responsibilities as assigned include assisting with special events and fundraising activities.

Weekend availability is a must.


Duration and Compensation:

The Coordinator will be expected to fill the summer weekend calendar with volunteer opportunities and

be responsible for their own transportation. Compensation starts at $17.00/hour.


The ideal candidate loves talking to people and proactively solving issues. You will be responsible for converting customers into passionate evangelists

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with customers via phone, email
  • Data entry in various platforms
  • Work with internal departments
  • Provide knowledgeable answers to questions about projects and open availability


Qualifications

  • At least 1 - 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent phone etiquette and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Work on the weekends is required
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
