Overview:
The Compliance Manager is responsible for managing internal and external audits, surveys and risk assessments by working with Ministry Office and others to determine and document findings and recommendations. This position performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values and Mercy Service Standards. Some travel may be required to meet department needs.
Qualifications:
  • Licensure: Valid driver's license.
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Preferred Experience: Prefer at least 1 year
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in a health care setting, preferably in billing, medical records, auditing, HIPAA Privacy, finance or clinical setting.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of healthcare operations.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Issues reports, complies data for responses, etc. related to findings and recommendations ofinternal & external audits, surveys & risk assessments.
2. Conducts research, provides references and guidance on Compliance and HIPAA matters to internal customers.
3. Develops and presents to various learners, compliance/privacy education and training. Tracks activities accordingly.
4. Manages investigations on privacy and compliance issues and complaints. Initiates corrective action and process improvement as indicated. Communicates with patients and/or relevant parties in person, via phone and/or written methods.
5. Tracks and maintains accurate information in Compliance department databases and files.
6. Complies/presents various Compliance reports, meeting agendas, minutes, etc.
7. Coordinates various Compliance meetings.
8. Maintains knowledge and experience pertaining to healthcare regulatory requirements in areas such as HIPAA, Medicare, Stark, etc.
9. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values and Mercy Service Standards.
Some travel may be required to meet department needs.
