This person will sit at the intersection of multiple points of customer interaction, a position of growing importance . The marketing team at Eastside is innovative, hardworking, nimble, and fun. We see the co-op as a place where people find community, and we look for ways to include and amplify more voices. Skills & Competencies Eastside 's Community & Communications Coordinator must be proficient in industry leading software, platforms, and technologies as it pertains to the social (media) and digital realm. This person can switch between many points of incoming media, inquiry and critique while maintaining a "big picture" view of our digital presence. They are a champion of digital communication and a bonafide "people person", but also understand how to edit out the noise of this space. The ideal candidate will take a balanced approach to qualitative and quantitative analytics and will merge such with a natural ability to identify patterns and distill them into valuable insights. This person must have an innate ability to understand how people perceive and utilize social media as an extension and tool of their projected personal value systems. Strong copywriting skills are a requirement. This person relishes in connecting people, organizations, and storylines with purpose. They are at home in a room of strangers and at their best when lifting-up others. A cool demeanor and affable personality will take this person far. The workload of this position on any given day will be a careful and calculated balance of "top of feed" tasks & deployments, and back-end management, analytics, and planning. Critical & Cautious Thinking Candidate considers "the bigger picture" daily and understands the value in every post, reply , and review. This person understands that we need to be constantly weaving stories together and providing value to those who engage with us in the digital and social space. Social media, specifically, is one of our most powerful tools for piquing new customers' and owners' interest. Pairing this social presence with our other most important tool, person -to-person activations and finding the ways that each discipline supports the other (and the store) will lead to this person's success. Teamwork & Relationships Eastside 's Community & Communications Coordinator will report directly to the Eastside Marketing Manager and will reside within the Marketing Department. Working closely with the Marketing team and other stakeholders this person will be a strong brand advocate and our lead person in outward communications from both brand and customer service standpoints. Understanding that Eastside serves a diverse community with many different voices is paramount to the inclusive and diverse nature of successful communications . Being flexible and adaptable will best suit this candidate for future growth and success. The ideal candidate will possess: Expertise in social media content management and analytics - experience managing social media business accounts is essential Familiarity with Squarespace and Mailchimp is preferable. A strong aesthetic sensibility and ability to discern not only what looks good, but what aligns with the Eastside Food Co-op brand The ability to synthesize complex information A collaborative spirit A high degree of organization and attention to detail The ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple priorities Familiarity with search engine optimization best practices and Google analytics Previous marketing experience Basic understanding of web design Knowledge of the Northeast Minneapolis community Passion for food, bringing people together and cooperative business Exceptional Customer Service skills An outgoing personality Enthusiasm for Eastside Food Co-op and its mission Project management experience Self-Motivation and the ability to work independently, with minimal direction. Excellent time management skills and ability balance multiple priorities Computer literacy - familiarity with Microsoft Office and Outlook necessary Previous outreach or volunteer coordination experience desired, but not required. Multi-lingual skills preferred. Access to reliable transportation Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
