Color Guard Moderator

Xavier High School, an outstanding Catholic high school, seeks a Color Guard Moderator. The Moderator is directly responsible for leading five to fifteen color guard members in collaboration with the Marching Band and Marching Band Director.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• The time to
• An effective ability to choreograph and teach the color guard routine.
• A willingness and ability to foster Christian values.
• Supervise Marching Band competitions and performances
• An ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, AD, and officials.
• Effectively audition students for the following year’s marching band color guard
• Attend summer Band Camp rehearsals
• An ability to develop a positive team culture and build positive relationships with students.
• Facilitate a Summer Color Guard Camp
• One to two sectionals a week during marching band season
• An ability to effectively teach the skills and strategies of t.
• Attend two to three marching rehearsals a week (during school year)

• Color Guard Camp (Late July-Early August)
• Band Camp (August)
• Auditions (including rehearsals) for Fall Color Guard (April-May)

• Metro Marching Band Classic (October)
• Home Football Games (Aug-Oct)
• Marching Contests/Festivals (Sept-Oct)
• School Year Rehearsals during earlybird and 1st period
• Homecoming Pep Rally (Sept/Oct)
