Job Description
The beautiful, newly renovated Pridwin resort on the shoreline of Crescent Beach in Shelter Island is looking for wonderful people to join an amazing team when we reopen on April 7th. Department: Food and Beverage
Position: Cocktail Server
Reports To: Assistant Director of Food and Beverage Operations; F&B Managers

Position Overview: Serve beverage and food items to customers in a friendly, enthusiastic, professional, and timely manner.

These duties may be described as, but not limited to:
  • Participate in maintaining the cleanliness of the serving area.
  • Ensure station and table set-ups are complete and perform various side duties as assigned by the Restaurant Supervisor.
  • Participate in the serving of food
  • Wash all snack bowls and ashtrays and clean coffee machine at the end of the night.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the bar area through disposing of all waste, clearing, and cleaning all glassware, and wiping down bar and preparation areas.
  • Restock fruit and supplies needed for server use.
  • Take orders for and serve all beverage requests, using suggestive selling techniques. Clear tables during service. Control guest checks and secure proper payment.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Must be able to lift trays of beverages or food items weighing up to 30 pounds on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10º F) and kitchens (+110º F), possibly for one hour or more.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school or equivalent education required.
  • Must be minimum age to serve alcohol.
  • All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per The Pridwin standards.
  • One year of high-volume beverage service required.
  • Customer service experience required.
