Summary:

The Personal Care Assistant/Nurse Assistant position is an exciting opportunity to work closely with clients in a variety of settings providing them with in-home care support services. In-home can mean anywhere they are currently living, at their residence, assisted living, skilled nursing facility, or hospital. The ideal team member will be friendly, enthusiastic, have a positive attitude, be nurturing, and have the ability to develop lasting relationships. Candidates should be flexible in their schedule and able to put themselves in our client’s shoes. How would you want your loved ones to be treated and cared for? Applicants will need to be an empathetic, strong communicator, who is detail-oriented and efficient. You will be interacting with clients regularly to ensure we provide the best care.

Essential Functions:

• Enjoy the client’s activities
• Assist in ambulation
• Homemaking activities such as vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping floors, doing dishes, changing linens, laundry, cleaning bathrooms
• Use safety devices and standard precautions to prevent the spread of infection and disease
• Other duties as assigned
• Record Activities of Daily Living
• Candidates will need to consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality
• Companionship for the client
• Be able to use Hoyer lift, wheelchairs, walkers, canes, linens, towels, standard precautions (gloves, goggles, mask, aprons), thermometers, urinals, bed pans, commodes, and personal hygiene supplies
• Observe residents and note physical condition, attitude, reactions, appetite, etc.
• Assist with personal and dental hygiene
• Assist to and from toilet, assist with any toileting needs
• Reposition residents in bed or chair
• Transfer to and from bed or chair
• Bathing; Dressing; Feeding
• Keep incontinent residents clean

Qualifications:

• Excellent written and verbal communication, professionalism and interpersonal skills
• CPR certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Personal Care Assistant/Nurse Assistant experience
• Valid driver’s license and use of an insured automobile preferred
• Be available as required for on-call duty outside of normal office hours
• Valid CNA license in Texas recommended
• Able to work independently, demonstrating sound judgment and high degree of self-motivation
• High school diploma or equivalent GED
