Eaton’s Electrical Sector division is currently seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect. This position is based at our Pittsburgh PA Location in Moon Twp. This position offers a Hybrid work schedule!


The expected annual salary range for this role is $125253.0 - $183704.4 a year.

What you’ll do:


In this role you will:
  • Coordinate with several 3rd party technical vendors and stay ahead of emerging tools and technology.
  • Have an open mind to understand and shape new solutions based on both emerging & established technologies.
  • When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger.
  • Develop and deploy solutions on Microsoft Azure.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance across our IoT Platform team and product divisions that consume our platform across Eaton on architecture, strategy, best practices.
  • Design and Build high performance systems with scalability, availability, fault-tolerance, monitoring and serviceability
  • Ensure high standards are being followed when it comes to design, coding quality, along with unit and integrated testing.
  • Have experience with technologies across all elements of full stack development including data stores, web servers, REST services, micro-services, web and app development in order to collaborate with teams to arrive at designs that are secure, scalable, reliable, and cost-effective.
  • Be responsible for defining and building out a software system architecture for IoT and cloud applications including the interconnectivity of embedded devices, user interface (web and mobile applications), and backend services.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to define architectures that meet customer and technical requirements across a variety of products.
  • Participate and contribute in developing solutions that will change how our customers and service organizations install, commission, operate and interact with our products
  • Lead the design and development of an IoT Platform including connected devices, API development, web and mobile applications, enterprise services, big data analytics, entitlement, and the integration of testing and cyber-security best practices.


Qualifications:


Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • No relocation will be provided for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Pittsburgh PA and Raleigh NC will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS software development.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the software industry developing enterprise-grade, scalable web-based applications and/or distributed systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
  • At least 3 years of experience architecting and developing applications in the cloud using any cloud-native technologies (Experience in Azure will be preferred)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science preferred
  • Experience working with a CI/CD platform
  • Experience with NoSQL database management systems
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and concepts
  • Experience utilizing best practices in software engineering
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code
  • Experience with virtualization, containers, service-mesh and enterprise service bus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively explain technical concepts
  • Expert level skills in C# and/or Java and associated IDE’s (Visual Studio, Eclipse, IntelliJ, etc.)
  • Thorough understanding of relational and non-relational database systems
