- Become a primary support in helping children/youth and families respond and intervene to crises.
- Enhance the functioning of youth and their families while helping them build stronger relationships for their future.
- Utilize a strengths-based and trauma informed practice to help families recognize and work through issues that have been identified.
- Establish a leadership role within the team as the clinical guide to treatment planning.
- Demonstrate your areas of clinical strength by implementing a variety of therapeutic interventions/modalities in your practice.
- Contribute to a multidisciplinary team that shares your passion for children and families.
- Apply and develop your clinical assessment and evaluation skills.
- Demonstrate an inclusive practice both in the office and in the field to support a diverse and accepting culture
- NYS licensed clinical degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Creative Arts Therapy or Mental Health Counseling and/or Limited Permit with 2 years experience in strength-based family and childrens services
- Excellent communication, organizational and collaboration skills
- Ability to have flexibility in hours worked both routinely, so as to meet children and families when they are available, and occasionally, in response to crises which may occur at any hour of any day.
- Experience working with children and families in a community-based or "in-home" setting
- Possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude needed to appreciate and encourage diversity, an understand the concept of cultural trauma as it applies to individual and family functioning
- Knowledge and experience in assessment based treatment planning and formulating clinical diagnoses and/or impressions
- Ability to engage families who may have been unsuccessful in clinic settings
- A strong belief in the capacity of people to grow and change
- Lifting of Agency file books - weighing approximately 6-8 lbs each - 5 inch binders. File in them as needed, including sorting paperwork, hole punching, opening and closing of binder rings.
- Completing paperwork, such as copying and stapling.
- Walking distances.
- Driving to and from appointments and activities as assigned.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Word processing: Including responding to emails, completing computerized documentation.
- Walking up and down stairs inside/outside.
