The Clinical Quality Nurse will be responsible for working cross-collaboratively across all teams in the Credentialing department and external stakeholders. This role will be reviewing and auditing healthcare professional files to ensure accuracy of all information verified. The Clinical Quality Nurse will work directly with Credentialing Department leaders to monitor quality adherence and drive continuous quality and process improvement initiatives. They will assist in the creation and rollout of education material for the department.

About your role:

  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Remain up to date on any new process or system and/or changes in existing process, programs, or systems
  • Review and report possible unauthorized disclosures
  • Assist in creation and rollout of education and training materials for Credentialing Department needs
  • Maintain highest level of confidentiality and compliance (HIPAA)
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, procedures, and policies.
  • Partner with leadership on projects tied to driving team and company goals.
  • Complete reviews/evaluations for the Credentialing department team members
  • Complete understanding of ticketing systems, primary programs, and client/user process
  • Reviews may consist of document verification decisions, written communications, phone calls, and additional component contributing to the onboarding of healthcare professionals
  • Act as a champion of change, bringing a lean-in attitude to your team, peers, and leaders daily.
  • Notify respective management of "Red Flag Events", as noted within departmental documentation, caused by colleagues
  • Assist in Root Cause Analyses and other investigative events
  • Assist leadership with the Quality Analysis and Process Improvement (QAPI) Program


Requirements and Skills:

  • Technical troubleshooting, investigative, and research-based skills
  • Ability to work under the pressure of tight deadlines.
  • 2+ years of practice as a Registered Nurse in an Acute Care setting
  • Proven track record of exceeding performance metrics
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude towards teammates and customers
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Expert level understanding of credentialing and licensure requirements
  • Work effectively with others as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-growing always changing environment
  • Computer keyboard proficiency and internet navigation skills required
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions and time constraints.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and ethical standards in a variety of situations.
  • Proven track record of working well under pressure
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel
  • 1+ year Quality Review experience or equivalent training


Preferred but not required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • 1 year knowledge with federal, state, and local laws and regulations for criminal background check collection and evaluation
  • Prior experience in healthcare credentialing (non-physician related) is preferred.
  • Prior experience in hospital staff orientation, training, and onboarding
