Job Description
  • Title: Clinical Laboratory Assistant Company: Roswell Park Cancer Institute Department: Central Laboratory Services Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Processes requests and receives clinical laboratory/clinical research/research specimens within the laboratory sections within department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine; accessions, processes, and routes laboratory testing material to the appropriate testing area; transcribes, prints, sorts, mails, and faxes laboratory reports; handles requests for laboratory reports, specimen tracking, and laboratory requests via phone, email, mail, and other correspondence methods; assists with the performance of laboratory quality control, equipment maintenance, and quality assurance activities; maintains laboratory supply inventories and processes requests for supply orders. Starting salary for this position is $40,193 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package. Qualifications:* Required Education and Experience 1. Associate's degree in a Healthcare discipline; or 2. Associate's degree and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in a clinical or research setting requiring the use of medical/laboratory terminology; or 3. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and current enrollment in an approved BS program in Clinical Laboratory Technology; or 4. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of two (2) years of full time experience in a clinical or research setting requiring the use of medical/laboratory terminology NOTE: Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices. Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have experience in a high volume customer service setting and experience in a laboratory/healthcare setting.
