The Clinical Diabetic Educator will join a nonprofit community hospital that has been compassionately serving its community for over 50 years. The hospital offers many services to its patients including orthopedics, infusion center, cardiopulmonary, and many specialty clinics throughout the community. The Executive and Leadership team within the hospital has a positive vision for the service of the facility. With the work of the outstanding staff creating a hospitable environment for patients and each other, the hospital has been able to accomplish and keep at this mission.
The Clinical Diabetic Educator will report to the Director of Clinical Education. The Educator will work with many staff members throughout the facility. The Diabetic Educator will ensure that DME/T program accreditation requirements are met and maintained for the hospital. They will also oversee the diabetes educational process and ensures that services are provided in an individualized and fiscally feasible manner.
In this engaged role, the Clinical Diabetic Educator will play a vital role in collecting DME/T program participant assessment data in a collaborative and ongoing manner. The Educator will have the opportunity to identify when a program participant’s needs are outside the scope of the instructor’s practice and expertise, plus arranges for additional services to meet needs.
