Your role at Baxter

The Safe Patient Handling and Mobility Clinical Consultant (SPHMCC) provides clinical support and expertise to the Baxter team. Using a consultative approach, they will raise awareness during customer engagements related to the clinical value of mobilizing patients earlier and often while establishing Baxter as the preeminent provider of ICU and MedSurg Mobility Solutions, across the care continuum.

The SPHMCC is additionally responsible for implementation and completion of the Clinical Consulting Services in their assigned territory.

What you'll be doing

  • Maintain knowledge of state and federal laws and guidelines governing Safe Patient Handling and Mobility programs.
  • Report regularly on SPHM trends and competitive issues during weekly team calls
  • Assist sales channel in conducting Safe Patient Handling and Mobility (SPHM) Needs Assessments
  • Provide clinical input with team and customer following SPHM Needs Assessment
  • Drive customer engagement through discussions related to clinical value of mobility.
  • Provide field training support for assigned territory.
  • Support and/or assist the sales channel in meeting or exceeding assigned revenue and profitability goals within assigned territory.

Clinical Consulting Services

  • Participate in internal research efforts to include clinical relevance.
  • Present continuing education modules as scheduled in the Baxter Customer Experience Center or virtually and scheduled regional account venues.
  • Maintain high level of expertise and knowledge regarding current research related to SPHM initiatives.
  • Support clinical marketing in development and review of materials related to SPHM to ensure clinical accuracy and relevance.
  • Act as liaison between customers and organization for Bedside Mobility Assessment Tool (BMAT) requests
  • Lead Clinical Consulting Services (fee-based service) including program design, policy, procedures and protocols for clinical applications, equipment management, and education model as per statement of work.

Territory: Eastern United States. Must reside close to a major airport hub

Travel: Up to 70%, including overnights

What you'll bring

  • Minimum 2 years Acute Care Hospital experience managing or involved in SPHM Program design/ and implementation required (3-5 years preferred)
  • Proven track record of establishing relationships with people easily yet able to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Obtain CSPHP certification from Certified Safe Patient Handling Professionals™ an affiliation of the Association of Safe Patient Handling Professionals (ASPHP) within 6 months of employment (or equivalent certification)
  • Bachelor Science Nursing (BSN), Physical Therapy (PT) or Occupational Therapy (OT) required (current licensure preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $68,000 to $156,000 plus an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. Our base salaries vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
