JOB SUMMARYThe Clinical Assistant, under the medical direction of the Clinic Physicians, and the general administrative direction of the Clinic Manager, is responsible for providing assistance to the Physicians and Mid-Level Practitioners through coordination of the patient visit and performing designated procedures and patient care. Administers and arranges for oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications and immunizations. Participates in quality and safety control. Provides support service within Clinic when not providing patient care. Maintains exam and treatment room supplies. If qualified and trained, may provide back-up for simple Laboratory services. May perform EKGs and assist with Cardiac Stress Testing.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience: Sufficient training and/or experience to maintain the required licensure/certification/registration.Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) registration/certification from a Medicare recognized organization such as; National HealthCareer Association, American Association for Medical Assistants, National Association for Health Professionals, or the Registered Medical Assistant certification (RMA) from American Medical Technologist OR licensed as a Paramedic, EMT, RN, LPN, or other licensure recognized under CMS Meaningful Use standards. BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network.
