Job Summary:


This remote position, under the general direction of the Claims Manager and as a member of the Claims department, the Claims Supervisor will be responsible for helping Figo achieve our shared vision of being the best-in-class pet insurance provider. This role includes, but is not limited to: Supervising designated staff, Organizing, and developing team schedules/tasks, training new employees, Monitoring work progress, Overseeing the productivity of assigned team, and Problem solving.

Main Responsibilities:


  • Mentor and provide guidance to designated staff
  • Assists the Claim Manager in the development of performance reviews for skill improvement
  • Creates and maintains a high-quality work environment so team members are motivated to perform at their highest level
  • Assists the Claim Manager in the continuous improvement of work procedures and processes that support the company and departmental standards, procedures and strategic directives
  • Operate as an effective team member by supporting colleagues and contributing in the delivery and achievement of overall team and business objectives
  • Provides performance feedback of direct reports to Claim Manager on a regular basis
  • Participate and undertake applicable professional, technical and career development training to include attainment of associated qualifications where required
  • Ensures all employees have appropriate training and other resources to perform their jobs
  • Undertake any other duties of a similar nature that the company reasonably requests to be performed that are within your abilities and/or expertise and skills
  • Provides daily direction and communication to assigned staff to ensure that tasks are handled timely, efficiently and in a knowledgeable manner
  • Provides continual evaluation of processes and procedures. Responsible for suggesting methods to improve area operations to effectively service to both internal and external customers
  • Assists Claim Manager in the preparation of warnings and communicates effectively with employees on warnings and makes effective/appropriate decisions relative to corrective action as required


Supervisory Responsibility:


  • Provides input for timely performance evaluation
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the team


This position will assist in performance supervision and assist in the hiring of the employees within the department, including adjusters, administrative staff and others as deemed necessary. Supervisor role adjudicates claims up to 75% or as needed


Requirements


Qualifications:


  • Proper insurance adjuster’s license preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar relevant work experience
  • Veterinary knowledge or Certified Veterinary Technician license preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2-4 years’ experience working in veterinary hospital as a veterinary technician preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience adjusting veterinary claims or relevant insurance claim processing;
  • 1-2 years’ leadership experience preferred


Additional Eligibility Qualifications:


  • Must maintain Adjusters License


Expected Hours of Work:


  • Position may require evenings and/or weekend days
  • This is a full-time position: Days and hours to be determined by needs of business. Hours to be determined between employee and director
