Overview:

This role includes a wide range of tasks, such as receiving service of process paperwork, maintaining the claims database and files, managing the legal hold process, and supporting discovery requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and preserve confidential information.
  • Preferred Experience: Experience with healthcare/medical malpractice claims management.
  • Preferred Education: Bachelors degree.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read and interpret legal documents of varying type and complexity.
  • Well developed interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Basic knowledge of legal, medical, and technical terminology.
  • Experience: One year legal and/or claims administration experience.
  • Ability to identify with and work within the Mercy organization mission framework.
  • Ability Works collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives. Assists other employees in accomplishments of organizational goals.
  • Certification: None.
  • Other Skills and Knowledge (Skills, Knowledge, Abilities):

  • Preferred Certification: Legal, claims and/or insurance certification.

  • Education: Associates degree or Paralegal degree/certificate.
  • Ability to work independently in a self-directed manner.
  • Licensure: None.
