Job Description

We are seeking a Claims Administrator for our customer, County Materials, in Marathon, WI.

Claims Administrator process incurred claims in accordance with company policies and practices. The position also administers the company drug testing program and maintains OSHA logs.

Job Duties

  • Review, evaluate, process & make recommendations for handling and resolution of Workers Compensation, Automobile Liability, and General Liability claims. Prepare and submit gross wage statements for injured employees.
  • Administer the company’s drug testing program; communicate the company’s drug testing policy to managers, supervisors, and other employees.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors for compliance of drug testing program.
  • Completes DOT driver employment verifications and qualification files.
  • Inform the Human Resources department regarding work related injuries for FMLA purposes.
  • Create and maintain claims coversheets.
  • Review and analyze driving records of potential company drivers and provide feedback to Human Resources and hiring managers.
  • Maintain contact with adjusters, agents, employees, third party insurance companies, medical clinics, and nurse case managers during the claim process.
  • Code and update WC or WC/FMLA time in attendance software.
  • Process and approve Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), respirator clearance and drug testing invoices through Max-capture.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by management.
  • Communicate policies and procedures for claims to managers, supervisors, and other team members.
  • Prepare and maintain OSHA logs in compliance with governmental regulations.
  • Manage and distribute the information received through the Risk Department’s centralized email address.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Familiar with standard risk management and insurance concepts, practices, procedures, laws, and regulations
  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks
  • Ability to learn and navigate various computer software and systems is expected
  • Typically requires an associate degree or its equivalent and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft products
  • A limited degree of creativity and latitude is expected
  • Critical thinking skills, shifting priorities, urgency to meet deadlines, is expected
