Civilian Community Relations Specialist
Location: State College Municipal Building
Starting hourly rate: $25.23
Position includes Competitive Benefits (Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance), 401 Employer Match Pension Plan, paid vacation, holidays, sick time plus additional benefits to be discussed during the interview process.
REQUIREMENTS:
This is a Civilian Community Relations Specialist position that works in conjunction and collaboration with the Community Relations Officer to perform duties related to developing and implementing programs in the community to prevent crime, build public trust, promote Community Oriented Policing, and engage in public awareness on a variety of topics of interest to the community. This position reports directly to the Professional Standards Lieutenant. This position requires flexibility of schedule. Evening and weekend meetings and programs occur frequently.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, sociology, marketing or a related field; Good presentation skills are essential and should be evidenced by gaining proficiency through an internship, fundraising, volunteer work or other community-based role; and one (1) year of experience working in a community-based position.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an applicant must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
