Job Description

COMPANY/LOCATION: SUNCOAST INFRASTRUCTURE

(This is NOT a job on a gas or oil pipeline)

General Summary of the Position:

Drive and operate TV vacuum truck as required in the performance of CIPP trenchless pipeline rehabilitation projects. Ensures appropriate service and maintenance of vac truck and assigned equipment. May assist other craft workers.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains a clean job site and keeps the truck clean and maintained at all times.
  • Drives TV vac truck to and from the job site.
  • Communicates with TV operator to coordinate workflow.
  • Loads and unloads materials, tools, and equipment onto from trucks.
  • Operates TV vac truck to clean and remove debris from pipe and manholes.
  • Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the Foreman, Superintendent or Safety Director.
  • Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy construction projects.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety precautions.
  • Knowledge of TV vac trucks required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing as required.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, sit and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
  • Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in heavy construction work.

Required Education, Training and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Valid appropriate state driver’s license; Class B CDL with tanker & air brake endorsements required.
  • Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions.

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to quickly move arms and legs.
  • Noise level is generally loud.
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
  • Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
  • Excellent stamina is required.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue and to effectively jump, sprint or throw an object.
