Summary/Objective


Plan, direct, or coordinate activities of childcare center and programs for after-school care.


Essential Functions

  • Respond to internal and external customers, as it relates to the job, in a prompt, efficient, and friendly manner.
  • Monitor and assist students working through academic assessments.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with parents, students and staff, conferring with parents and staff as needed and appropriate.
  • Monitor students and provide students and teachers with assistance in resolving any problems.
  • Prepare and maintain attendance, activity, and planning records of center.
  • Supervise classes and provide direct care to students.
  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all policies, regulations, and rules.
  • Prepare drafts of program schedules.
  • Coordinate the activities of the childcare center specialists.
  • Perform related duties as assigned in a safe and prudent manner.

Supervisory Responsibility


The incumbent will serve as a lead worker of childcare specialists.


Work Environment


This job operates in a school environment as well as outdoors.


Physical Demands


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


  • Regularly required to communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself, and exchange information with parents, students, and staff.
  • Occasionally required to remain stationary, and focus on a computer screen.
  • Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, bend, stoop, lift, climb, and reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally move, transport, position, put, install, and remove items up to 50 pounds as needed.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work


This is a non-exempt, 12-month, part-time position working approximately 26-29 hours per week.The typical work schedule will be 2:00-6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6:45 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Friday. This position is not eligible for health benefits.
