POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA child care program(s) . ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for being a collaborative, engaging and active participant on the Childcare Leadership Team. Maintain accurate and consistent data records, compile statistics, and file timely reports with the YMCA and any partnering agencies as required. Create and distribute daily, weekly and monthly parent communication for childcare programs. Oversees equipment for childcare programs: ordering, organizing and maintaining inventory and ensuring replacements in a timely manner. Oversees ordering and scheduling staff to deliver snack for child care programs. Assist the Childcare Director with planning and managing the childcare programs, as needed. Recruit and set up interviews and work with HR for hiring part time staff. Ensure all new hires receive required training and job shadowing. Assist with planning and scheduling staff trainings and meetings. Ensures sites are properly staffed and any concerns are addressed accurately and in a timely manner. Responds to all association, parent and community inquiries in a timely manner. Be a champion for the YMCA and participate in the YMCA Annual Campaign. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. One or two years of childcare and/or administrative experience is preferred. CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required within 90 days of hire. Basic/working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Gmail applications. Ability to relate effectively to diverse people groups from all social and economic segments of the community. Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Regularly required to use a computer/smart device. Must be able to move around the work environment and lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
