Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant - LDTC


The successful candidate is required to reside in New Jersey within one year of employment.


Duties: Reports to the Executive Director of Special Services; evaluates, classifies, and recommends programs for pupils; serves as a member of the Child Study Team and educational consultant to teachers, principals and parents; administers educational and perceptual testing to all referrals and as recommended for an evaluation plan in re-evaluations; addresses assigned extra-duty cases in addition to daily contractual duties; related duties as assigned.


Requirements: New Jersey Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant certification. Teaching experience. Strong communication and technology skills.


Social Worker


The successful candidate is required to reside in New Jersey within one year of employment.


Duties: Reports to the Executive Director of Special Services; serves as a member of the Child Study Team and works with other team members to determine eligibility and develop appropriate individualized education plans in accordance with NJAC 6A:14; completes social histories as part of the eligibility process; works extensively with students and families to promote social and emotional growth; works with teachers and staff to increase understanding of student emotional concerns; assists families with referrals and connections to community agencies; provides counseling to students in an individual and group setting; assists students with coping and accountability tools to encourage school success; conducts home visits as necessary; inputs data into the district special education database program; performs related duties as assigned.


Requirements: N.J. School Social Worker certification. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues and resources involving adolescents and younger children. Strong computer literacy.


School Psychologist


The successful candidate is required to reside in New Jersey within one year of employment.


Duties: Reports to the Executive Director of Special Services; provides assessment and interpretation to determine eligibility in accordance with NJAC 6A:14; identifies and assesses learning, development and adjustment characteristics; studies environmental factors which may impact learning and adjustment; uses assessment data about the student and his/her environment to develop appropriate interventions and programs; provides interventions to students to support the teaching process and to maximize learning and adjustment; provides consultation to parents, teachers and other school personnel; assists in the planning, development and evaluation of programs to meet identified learning and adjustment needs; delivers a planned and coordinated program of psychological services; applies ethics and standards of professional practice in delivery of services; observes relevant laws and policies that govern the practice; seeks to improve professional knowledge and skill; communicates effectively with supervisor, students, parents and school district staff; related duties as assigned.


Requirements: New Jersey School Psychologist certification. Strong computer literacy.


Speech Language Therapist


Reports to the Executive Director of Special Services; provides specialized learning experiences and supervision of students with disabilities; assists in developing speech and language skills to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students; establishes a positive learning environment and responds to individual student needs; ensures that all activities conform to district guidelines; assists each student to develop the skills, attitudes, and knowledge to meet the State Content Standards as outlined in the Individualized Education Plan (IEP), by using approved curricula and directives of the school; works collaboratively with staff members with emphasis on the Child Study Team; communicates effectively with parents and guardians; performs related duties as requested.


Requirements: N.J. Speech Therapist Certification. Strong computer literacy.


Occupational Therapist


The successful candidate is required to reside in New Jersey within one year of employment.


Duties: Reports to the Executive Director of Special Services; leads the process of development, implementation and coordination of the occupational therapy program; screens, evaluates, and provides therapeutic intervention for students identified with or suspected of having disabilities which interfere with their ability to perform daily life activities or participate in necessary or desired occupations; provides transition and exit planning for students under his/her care; uses professional judgment and clinical knowledge to develop individualized programming based upon students’ occupational performance deficits; collaborates with other district services and departments; delivers independent review outcomes and modifies intervention programs as necessary; uses clinical reasoning and professional judgment to ensure student safety with awareness of his/her own and school district liability; follows routine employee accountability measures when performing duties independently at various schools; related duties as assigned.


Requirements: New Jersey School Occupational Therapist certification. Strong computer literacy.
