Job Description

This mid-sized company is looking for a strong CFO level leader with manufacturing experience to support culture of excellence after a well tenured predecessor’s retirement. CFO will be trained by the predecessor and will report to the President Owner.


CFO is responsible for overseeing all areas of daily accounting, financial reporting, forecasting and capital assets. The successful candidate will have manufacturing experience and effective organization, management and communication skills. CFO will work at the Leitchfield, KY facility and can work one day per week from home after initial training period if desired. This role includes full employee benefits, a market competitive salary ($150k - $160k) and a possible 20% annual performance-based bonus. Highlighted Duties:

  • Manage commercial insurance and assist HR Manager with annual healthcare insurance renewals
  • Responsible for financial oversight including general ledger, revenue recognition, cash management, month-end close, financial analysis/reporting and forecasting
  • Manage daily accounting and an AP/Accounting Clerk
  • Responsible for payment/recording of capital expenditures
  • Review inventory standard costing and reporting
  • Ensure effective internal controls are in place, compliant with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws for financial and tax reporting
  • Provide outstanding customer service and communication with management team and employees
  • Revise and maintain accounting policies and systems
  • Participate in company strategic planning by providing financial information and guidance
  • Work within company’s ERP system
  • Coordinate with CPA firm and banks on behalf of company
  • Handle tax compliance and reporting
  • Work with General Managers on annual budgets


Highlighted Requirements:

  • Cost accounting experience
  • Solutions driven problem solver with an exceptional customer service mindset
  • Excellence verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills needed to effectively convey information to others
  • Experience overseeing daily accounting (AR/AP)
  • Recent hands-on accounting leader role in the manufacturing industry required
  • Strong background in financial reporting and understanding of GAAP
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience at a mid-sized company ($50M - $100M)
  • Ability to successfully work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar required
  • Passion for continuous improvement; experience streamlining policies and procedures
