We are currently looking for a driven and customer-focused individual to join us as the Part-time Chief Architect in Hanover, MD. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to national security by working on innovative projects that foster professional growth.


As the Chief Architect, you will have the responsibility of overseeing, enhancing, and upgrading enterprise and specialized services, software, and hardware. Leveraging your expertise, you will develop solutions that align with optimal business strategies, while also ensuring that our organization remains at the forefront of the latest trends, technologies, software, and hardware that can enhance our business processes.


Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To


  • Lead strategic conversations with multiple project stakeholders to clarify scope and direction on multiple simultaneous implementation efforts.
  • Architect and design specialized solutions for an Intelligence Community customer.
  • Assess existing agency architecture and current solution capabilities, define and design system specifications, and input/output processes and working parameters for solution compatibilities.
  • Create project-deliverable documents in support of the Software/System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and System Engineering Life Cycle (SELC).
  • Provide expert level consultation and technical services on all technical aspects of the program
  • Provide thought leadership and strategic guidance on overall solution direction, present at project briefings, and facilitate large group technical discussions.
  • Evaluate COTS/GPTS products already in use and those proposed for use, including an analysis of the individual product, its integration into the overall architecture, its interaction with other products, and its interaction with known products external to which will interface with.


Position Requirements


  • Must possess experience managing the implementation of systems through a Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC/SDLC).
  • Must possess network security architecture expertise.
  • Minimum Education: B.S. in Computer Science/System Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum/General Experience: 20 years of combined experience in the areas of systems engineering, software development, system administration, network administration and/or cybersecurity. Experience should include experience with technologies such as Cross Domain Solutions, Cybersecurity Operations, Cybersecurity Engineering, Information Assurance and SIGINT collection/processing/dissemination systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven experience authoring white papers or other technical documents.


Desired Experience


  • Experience with designing, implementing and managing Splunk infrastructure solutions
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously; coordinating resources and ensuring scheduled goals are met.
  • Proven problem management skills with the ability to think critically.
  • Ability to make decisions and resolve problems effectively – Seek out information and data to evaluate, prioritize and formulate best solution or practice.
  • Experience with designing and operating a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline
  • Working knowledge of current Cloud technologies (VMWare, KVM, Amazon Web Services, etc…)
  • Proficient in Windows and Linux (Red Hat, CentOS, Fedora, etc…) operating systems
  • Demonstrate leadership and foster collaborative team approach – interacts well with front line and senior management providing consultation and expert advice on information security related topics.
  • Candidates must possess strong client interfacing and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task, work independently and as part of a team, share workloads, and deal with sudden shifts in project priorities.
  • Ability to effectively interact with various levels of senior management is necessary.
  • Must be able to leverage technology and apply critical thinking to gather, aggregate, and analyze data, and present results to senior clients.
  • Experience with customizing ServiceNow instances (dashboards, workflows, etc…)
  • Strong presentation and consulting skills.


Clearance Requirement


  • Active/Current TS/SCI with Polygraph is required


Physical Requirements


  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing/walking/talking and must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
