About the Organization:

BRM is dedicated to addressing the needs of queer people of color, providing spaces for celebration and empowerment, and promoting initiatives that uplift and support the community. As the Chairperson of BRM, you will play a crucial role in leading the Board of Directors and guiding the organization towards its mission.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and direction to the Board of Directors, ensuring the organization's goals and objectives are pursued effectively
• Collaborate with other board members and stakeholders to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives
• Nurture a positive and inclusive organizational culture, promoting teamwork, accountability, and transparency
• Oversee the overall management and governance of BRM, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
• Represent BRM in public events, partnerships, and engagements to raise awareness and support for the organization
• Preside over board meetings, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment for discussions and decision-making

Requirements:

• Proven leadership experience in a nonprofit, community organization, or similar setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others
• Strong organizational and strategic thinking abilities
• Knowledge of issues affecting queer people of color communities
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build partnerships
• Ability to dedicate sufficient time and energy to fulfill the responsibilities of the role
• Passion for and commitment to the mission and goals of BRM
