Job Description

We seek a skilled and experienced Estate Planning Paralegal to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in trust administration and demonstrate excellent communication skills. In addition, you will provide comprehensive support to our attorneys and clients in all estate planning and trust administration aspects.


Responsibilities:

  1. Assist attorneys with drafting estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives.
  2. Manage and administer all aspects of trusts, including distributions, amendments, and terminations.
  3. Communicate effectively with clients, trustees, and beneficiaries compassionately and professionally.
  4. Prepare and file probate court documents.
  5. Assist with estate and trust tax returns.
  6. Maintained and organize client files and managed case deadlines.
  7. Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda as needed.


Requirements:

  1. Paralegal certification from an accredited program.
  2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal in estate planning and trust administration.
  3. Proficient knowledge of probate law and procedures.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals.
  5. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  7. Proficiency in legal research tools and software (Westlaw, LexisNexis, etc.).
  8. Experience with tax software for estate and trust tax returns is a plus.
  9. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
