Job Description

We are seeking a self-motivated, reliable, and good-minded individual to become our newest Certified Medical Coder at One GI®.

A typical day as a Certified Medical Coder:


  • Apply appropriate coding/billing guidelines on the front end to ensure clean claims to payer.
  • Query providers and staff to obtain information for clarification of coding and billing.
  • Identify problem accounts with coding errors and review documentation for correction as applicable.
  • Abide by the standards of ethical coding and adhere to official coding guidelines.
  • Code and review charges as well as data entry as applicable.
  • Answer inquiries regarding coding when applicable.

The Must Haves:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical coding and billing experience with E&M, ancillary and procedure coding in an office or facility setting required.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in billing/coding for medical practice required.
  • Current coding certification required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Working knowledge of payer specific guidelines including Medicare rules and regulations required.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and remains current regarding CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes required.
