As a Certified Athletic Trainer, responsibilities include the day-to-day care of injuries and medical emergencies that occur on camp facilities for campers, staff, guests and visiting athletes. Within this role there are varying degrees of processes in which must be understood and prioritized in order to successfully achieve the daily operations of this department.Certified Athletic Trainers should be knowledgeable in the injuries and sport injury prevention.

BASIC/SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Staff housing may be provided during employment.
  • Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50lbs.
  • Camp Attendance Requirements (June 4th - August 26th):
    • Minimum commitment of 2 weeks (at least 4 weeks preferred)
  • Must be comfortable working in an outdoor all-season environment.
  • Lodging & Food:
    • 3 daily meals are provided as part of employment.
    • Staff housing may be provided during employment.
  • Work related references upon request.

  • As a requirement of this position, pre-hire criminal history clearances are collected from the Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH) system, child abuse clearances are obtained through the Department of Public Welfare, and federal history is taken through FBI fingerprint screening.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain a positive learning environment for clinical education of student athletic trainers and other medical personal
  • Provide oversight to student athletic trainers
  • Work along infirmary and transportation department to ensure the best care is provided to all on camp property
  • Help facilitate safety and wellness across the entire camp
  • Ensuring adherence to HIPPA standards
  • Communicate any and all maintenance needed to uphold a safe and sanitized athletic training room
  • Responsible for maintaining records on campers, staff, and guests utilizing our internal platforms
  • Other duties as assigned
    • Attend camper orientation to provide education on safety and wellness
    • Help facilitate safety and wellness across the entire camp
  • Overall
    • Maintain and be a knowledgeable resource of current and proposed standards of practice and state guidelines of athletic trainers
    • Ensuring adherence to HIPPA standards
    • Work along infirmary and transportation department to ensure the best care is provided to all on camp property
    • Responsible to provide comprehensive athletic training services to all campers, guests, and staff
    • Attend and participate in staff training to acquire knowledge for behavior management techniques, emergency evacuation procedures, etc.

    • Maintain Woodward's safety logs, operational sheets and incident logs

  • Ensure the Athletic Training Room is covered on a rotational basis from 8:30am to 10pm Sunday thru Saturday

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SPECIAL SKILLS:
  • Experience:
    • Minimum Bachelor's degree
    • NATABOC Certified
    • Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Licensure
    • Must have 1+ years of experience working with kids and/or teens
  • NATABOC Certified
  • Health and Safety Certifications:
  • Ability to project manage and prioritize multiple tasks at the same time
  • Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Licensure
  • Proven ability to collaborate well across functions and departments, to work as part of a team.
  • Must have 1+ years of experience working with kids and/or teens
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Able to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
