Tracker Trailer Driver

Starting Pay Rate: $24.94 ($0.80 Shift Differential)

Work Schedule:
  • B shift: 1:00 - 9:30pm
  • A shift: 5am - 1:30pm
  • C shift: 9pm - 5:30am

Hybrid Position; Needs to be flexible with schedule to cover different roles.

Perform operational duties (move and spot trailer) for the shipping and receiving department to ensure the continual flow of production materials and finished goods.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Make 30-35 in/out trailer moves in a timely manner daily


  • Handle 40-52' trailers, maneuvering into docks at the Main Plant, Cold Storage, Oil Mill and various commercial facilities in Suffolk as well as handle 20 to 40' ocean going containers




  • Operate forklift to load and off load trailers
  • Perform daily yard checks and report to respective departments
  • Report any trailer damage, internal and external trailers


  • Maintain Yard trucks: ensure trucks are fueled, ensure all equipment is operating properly, ensure general maintenance is completed on truck and truck is delivered for PM on time




  • Report any trailers that are being "overused". Monitor and report daily any excessive use of external trailers in order to return to proper parties in a timely manner




  • Able to read and understand the cashew container schedule; able to make decisions on container placement and order of use to avoid demurrage charges




  • Understand plant workflow in order to be able to prioritize scheduled and un-scheduled moves. i.e. 4 moves requested at once, understands order of importance




  • Meets and can perform all duties as outlined on the "Checker Driver Processing" checklist




  • Support plant high performance culture and continuous improvement programs through active participation in DDS meetings and plant productivity programs




  • Comply and actively participate in all safety and environmental ORM policies, procedures and programs



  • Comply with all QRMP program requirements including HACCP and GMPs
  • Perform area housekeeping duties
  • Perform all tasks as assigned by supervisor
  • Adheres to the QRMP site rules


  • Adheres to all QRMP ways of working, processes and procedures associated with your role



Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED Required
  • Forklift License
  • Must have and maintain a good attendance record
  • Must be able to communicate effectively
  • Must be able to move up to 50 pounds (Physical Demands)
  • Valid CDL required(Commercial Drivers' License)
  • Must have and maintain a good driving record
  • Must complete a medical examination report for commercial driver fitness determination
  • Must become TQR qualified
