Job Description
The incumbent in this position is responsible for all activities pertaining to cleaning and maintenance of all food and beverage wares, kitchens, and service areas. The organization, sanitation and cost of operations is to be consistent with the overall Food & Beverage goals and objectives.

  • Run all the required reports for the server, the micro’s cashier report and the batch report from the credit card machine.
  • Accurately verify all banks received and returned from cage or cash room.
  • Escort guests to their tables/booths in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Ring all financial transactions accurately.
  • Complete all opening and closing side duties.
  • Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service.
  • Serve efficiently between 25-35 guests per half-hour.
  • Responsible for all comps and reservation sheets.
  • Responsible for abiding to all cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Other departmental related duties and assignments as directed by management.
  • Take reservations when necessary.
  • Welcome every guest in order to improve guest satisfaction and to promote positive gust relations.
  • Stock areas with all necessary items, during the shift at well as the end of the shift.
  • Present check and collect settlement for all necessary items.
  • Follow all policies and procedures regarding alcohol.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all dining areas.
  • Pick up and return bank and revenue to and from cage or cash room.
  • Inspect dining area and set the table/booth when necessary.
  • Be knowledgeable of events.
  • Practice and observe the safety rules and regulations in all dining areas.


NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Attend seminars when needed.


EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)


High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency preferred. Must have strong mathematical skills. Ability to read and write English required. Two years’ guest service experience in a family or formal dining environment. Casino Food & Beverage experience preferred


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc)


  • Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Indiana Gaming Commission.
  • Must successfully pass drug screening.
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Must successfully pass background check.


KNOWLEDGE OF


  • Must have the ability to anticipate guest and employee needs.
  • Must have good communication skills and maintain friendly personable attitude at all times.
  • Two years’ guest service experience in a family or formal dining environment.
  • Casino Food & Beverage experience preferred.


ABILITY TO


  • Must have valid Food Handlers Card, Liquor License, and IGC Badge when working.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Must have the ability to withstand noisy and smoke-filled environments.
  • Must be able to stand 50% of shift, walk 45% of shift, and sit 5% of shift.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensures the proper storing of any foods, including those from a previous function.
  • Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service.
  • Ensures that items are fully stocked, and equipment is in good working condition.
  • Assists co-workers to ensure efficient operation of the kitchen.
  • Assists with other duties at special events or parties and assisting where necessary to include but not limited to carving, cooking, set up and or teardown stations or work areas or other duties as assigned.
  • Attend and participate in meetings, completing follow-up as assigned.
  • Prepares foods that are to be grilled, fried, broiled, baked, boiled, braised, poached or prepared in the pantry; ensures that all plates or pans served are aesthetically appealing and cooked to the specifications of the customer and the chef.
  • Ensures cleanliness of working area; reports all equipment for safety failures, hazardous areas and accidents.
  • Recognizes a variety of sauces and properly places them on all entrees featured on daily menus.
  • Keeps workstation neat and clean.

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)


This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through a High School Diploma or Equivalent. A culinary apprenticeship, an Associate’s Degree from a culinary institution or an equivalent with some industry experience is preferred.
