Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) Facilities and Site Services Maintenance group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Carpenter.

Our team works an on-site 4x10 schedule located at our Research and Educations Campus with every Friday off!

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide feedback to the Planning Manager and/or Planning Technical Lead on any recommended improvements to the work order documentation process.
  • Participate in the work control process planning walk down by providing recommendations to the planner on hazard identification, hazard mitigation, technical information, task sequencing, resource requirements, equipment requirements, and other information to produce a work document that can be used to accomplish the identified work scope.
  • Perform Ready–Ready walk downs as directed by the foreman.
  • Provide feedback to the foreman on any training needs or improvements that are needed to drive better performance and identifying any opportunities for improvement.
  • Plan, implement, and carry out special projects within area of expertise assigned by the foreman.
  • Erect scaffolding, construct working platforms, build concrete forms, replace panes of glass, replace ceiling tiles, and replace doors including latching devices and seals.
  • Work on the relocation team to assemble and install modular furniture and cubicles setup and configuration to accommodate ongoing moves.
  • Provide on-the-job training to other craftspeople as requested by maintenance management.
  • Design, build, install, and repair structures, fixtures, furniture, and other items using different types of materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner in accordance with company and facility procedures and policies including the usage of human performance principles.
  • Clean, maintain, adjust, calibrate, and service equipment used in the performance of assigned responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS


Minimum Requirements:

  • High school graduate, or equivalent, plus 5 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Journeyman Carpenter.

  • Salary: $41.14/hour (Rate can vary based upon individual work location, clearances, and qualifications. Rates are accurate for current posting and subject to change. These are bargaining unit positions.)
