Job Description
Principal Duties And Responsibilities


The successful applicant will join ATR's Engineering Services Division, working as a team member at our government client site, Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division, West Bethesda MD to perform Computer Aid Design (CAD) and model development support for Signatures Engineering Branch as applied to Navy platforms. Duties include but not limited to:


  • Develop highly detailed closed surface mesh models using Rhino, FEAMAP, AutoCAD, etc
  • Provide periodic support for ship check and generate geometry from drawings
  • Generate Poly file models in support of Radar Target Signature prediction
  • Generate geometry and high fidelity models of ships, small boats and equipment
  • Document and manage modeling database.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


  • 2-3 years of CAD experience desired
  • Minimum Associate Degree or Vocational school


SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:


Candidate must have professional ability to apply scientific methodology to engineering problems, and must be a self-starter and willing to learn. We are looking for applicants with a high level of technical/intellectual curiosity and the ability to work independently.


  • Knowledge of Computer Aid Design (CAD) and model development
  • Ability to travel and conduct ship check
  • Ability to develop highly detailed closed surface mesh models
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to generate and sketch 2D or 3D drawings


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:


Candidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance or favorable adjudication of a national security background investigation. Current successful background investigation completion is a plus.
