Job Summary


The Drafter will be responsible for preparing detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices, including dimensions, fastening methods, and other engineering information.


Essential Functions


  • Lay out and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.
  • Ensure drawings reflect current construction standards and codes.
  • Coordinate directly with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements, verify design details, and recommend modifications as needed according to company standards and best practices.
  • Convert detailed engineering designs to technical drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies, tools, and controls, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.
  • Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and resolve design or other problems.
  • Lay out, draw, and reproduce illustrations for reference manuals and technical publications to describe operation and maintenance of mechanical systems.
  • Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to the materials.
  • Calculate estimates for equipment, materials, and other construction resources.
  • Modify and revise designs to correct safety and operating deficiencies.
  • Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed
  • Produce three-dimensional models, using computer-aided design (CAD) software.


COMPETENCIES


  • Proficient with computer-aided drafting (CAD) software
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
  • Strong communication skills to communicate and retain detailed work instructions


Education And Experience


  • Required- 2 year Associate Degree in Drafting
  • Preferred- 2 years experience in manufacturing industry
