Cad Designer (Engineer Design 3)

We have a need for a CAD Designer to support our Mission Technologies Division, which has over 100 facilities worldwide and provides capabilities to support an all-domain force that includes artificial intelligence and machine learning, autonomous systems, critical nuclear operations, LVC systems, cyberspace strategies, and platform modernization.

What You Will Do

• Draw structural, mechanical, or electrical features of related structures and equipment.
• May review completion and implementation of systems additions and/or enhancements and recommend corrections in technical application and analysis to management.
• Prepare sketches or complete detail and layout drawings from verbal and/or written instructions.
• Calculate and lay out dimensions, angles, curvature of parts, materials to be used, and relationship of various parts to the entire structure.
• Review literature, standards, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
• Create preliminary and/or final drawings and models using standard drafting techniques using CAD.
• Collaborate with design originator, appropriate engineering, and other personnel in finalizing design concepts.

What You Must Have

• Related experience interpreting design requirements and preparing design alternatives with minimal engineering supervision.
• Experience with 3D Parametric modeling and 2D drafting experience is a must. (SolidWorks 3D modeling experience is preferred).
• Must be proficient in creating 2D drawings in AutoCad applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in compliance with ASME Y14.5.
• Proficient in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and/or traditional drafting methods.
• Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field.
• Experience producing and delivering Level 3 technical data packages and support documentation in accordance with MIL-STD-31000.
• Experience creating line art for technical illustrations using graphic software such as Canvas, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Gimp, or IsoDraw.
