Overview
Identifies savings and process improvement opportunities; establishes collaborative relationships internally and externally; develops sourcing strategies; negotiates with suppliers; collaborates with department to aid in internal approval process.
Responsibilities

• Communicate with vendors regarding delivery schedules, quality issues, and cost concerns.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Conduct supplier visits and vendor capabilities assessment as required.
• Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
• Develop and manage supplier relationships.
• Purchase materials, supplies, and services to support production with emphasis on best cost, quality, on-time delivery, and service.
• Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for stock outs and missed deliveries
• Monitor existing orders to ensure on-time deliveries.
• Expedite purchase orders as required to support production and/or customer needs.
• Manage data integrity for purchased raw materials and components in the MRP system.
• Ability to work with a team as well as independently.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, leadership, and critical thinking skills.
• Must be advanced user with Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word)
• Ability to communicate with all levels of management.
• 5-10 years of purchasing/sourcing experience in a manufacturing industry.
• Ability to manage conflicting interests and/or demanding customers and suppliers.
• Maintain all applicable databases used in developing the cost estimates.
• Ability to interact and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage supplier performance.
• Ability to travel 5%
• Ability to multi-task.
• Must have general knowledge of accounting principles.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
• Experience working in a MRP system, (Infor) Syteline or Epicor preferred.
• Time management and project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in reading engineering drawings.
