Job Description

Business Analyst / Product Owner - 100% REMOTE


Privately held Software Development organization seeking a hybrid Business Analyst/Product Owner for their growing team to work on a variety of initiatives and projects! This position will report to the Director of Product Engineering and will be a fully remote opportunity!


Wearing your Business Analyst hat, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between Product Engineering and the business by determining, translating, and documenting requirements in a way that is easily comprehensible by development and QA teams. The BA will act as liaison between the relevant groups and stakeholders and will capture requirements needed to initiate change and translate those requirements into work items that can be easily consumed by the technical teams.


Wearing your Product Owner hat, you will own responsibility for defining the product’s vision, helping to identify and gather customer requirements, and prioritize the work needed to transform the product. The PO works closely with the engineering and sales teams to ensure that company goals are achieved. The PO will make data driven decisions that are reinforced by feedback from the customers to create alignment and enable the team to focus on delivering value to the customers.


We will look to the BA/PO to:

  • Drive the execution of all lifecycle processes for assigned products (market research, competitive analysis, planning & positioning, roadmap development, product launch, etc..)
  • Discover, organize and clarify business needs and review specs for new features, changes, etc..
  • Define and document needs and become a SME that can seamlessly liaise between development, product, sales, and customers
  • Work closely with Scrum Team to gain alignment on the work needed for each product
  • Provide strategic alignment as applicable to company goals
  • Develop and utilize standard templates to write requirements specifications accurately and concisely
  • Plan and prioritize the product backlog
  • Collaborate with the project sponsors, Sales and Engineering teams on the development, QA, and release of products as well as product vision
  • Identify solution gaps in the markets to deliver products that fill these gaps
  • Help track metrics associated with measuring the success of the product or product feature


Ideal candidate will have a solid mix of the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with enterprise software application development and/or product development
  • Mobile application development preferred
  • Deep knowledge and experience of Agile/Scrum
  • Outstanding organizational skills including the ability to handle a fluctuation of priorities
  • 5+ years relevant experience including a mix of BA and PO experience and ideally a successful track record in a hybrid BA/PO role
  • Experience with Product Prototyping and wireframe tools
  • Strong understanding of SAAS is preferred
  • Strong Story Telling and Influencing Skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience managing a product’s life cycle from inception to delivery
  • Proven experience with converting customer needs into written Business Requirements, Acceptance Criteria, and documentation
  • CSM and CSPO preferred
  • Product Management experience is a plus
